Fire and Home Safety PROGRAM SUMMARY Does your family have a home escape plan? Do your children know how to call 911? If you answered no to these questions, then consider attending the fire and home safety program at Safety City. The program is two hours in length and combines classroom instruction with hands-on activities. Using an interactive model called the Hazard House the classroom portion teaches children about the causes of fire and how to implement a home escape plan. Outside in the fire safe house participants conduct a kitchen inspection and put their home escape plan into action. PROGRAM DETAILS
Acreage and Farm Safety Program PROGRAM SUMMARY The Acreage and Farm Safety Program is two hours in length and teaches children how to "AIM for Safety". AIM stands for Assess the situation, Identify the hazard, and Manage your behavior. Children spend the first 30 minutes of the program in the classroom where a story presentation teaches them how to apply the three steps of the "AIM" message in a variety of realistic situations. For the remainder of the program children are engaged with 12 interactive displays in the Safety Centre. These interactive displays present a variety of scenarios such as ATV safety, chemical safety, machinery safety, animal safety and dugout safety. At each display, children practice the three AIM steps and explore the interactive elements. PROGRAM DETAILS
